SHUNYATA RESEARCHEVEREST-X SHELF POWER FILTER
THE ULTIMATE IN POWER SUPPLY – PERFECTION REDEFINED
The Everest-X is the most advanced power conditioner in Shunyata Research's 25-year history. As the direct successor to the multi-award-winning Everest 8000, it marks a dramatic quantum leap in the quest for absolute sonic fidelity for the most demanding recording, mastering, and high-end systems.
Based on decades of research and scientific refinement, the Everest-X was developed to redefine the limits of what is possible in power supply. Whether used in the world's best recording studios or as the heart of an uncompromising high-end system at home, the Everest-X delivers pure, unadulterated performance without any compromises.
Thanks to patented technologies and custom-designed, proprietary components, it supplies multiple devices simultaneously with absolutely clean power, while effectively blocking both mains interference and sound-degrading crosstalk between components. Compared to conventional power conditioners, the Everest-X restores music to its original, physical timing and an unprecedented, profound tranquility. With its extremely low noise floor and absence of distortion, the sound reproduction immediately becomes more tangible, dynamic, and vibrant—as if the electronics were driven by significantly more powerful amplification. The result is a completely black background that reveals the finest harmonic textures and a lifelike presence of instruments and voices.
To ensure seamless integration into any system layout, Shunyata Research offers the Everest-X in two enclosure types: a striking vertical tower or a low-profile rack model (shelf model) for standard audio racks. Both versions are internally identical, sharing the same groundbreaking electronics, uncompromising noise reduction, and award-winning performance.
GROUNDBREAKING TECHNOLOGY
TAPc (Transverse Axial Polarizer):
This patent-pending technology passively couples to the electromagnetic fields surrounding power and signal conductors. TAPc acts as a polarizer, reducing electromagnetic distortion, which often manifests as sonic harshness or visual blurring. The result is an audibly lower noise floor and an immediate improvement in timing and coherence.POWER HARP:
Originally developed to eliminate power resonances in speaker cables, this technology is adapted for power distribution for the first time in the Everest-X. Research by developer Caelin Gabriel revealed that power resonances and drifts occur within the power supply in the audio frequency range – similar to standing waves in room acoustics. The HARP module breaks up these resonances, resulting in a dramatic increase in resolution, coherence, and dynamic stability for all connected components.QR/BB™ (Patent US 10,031,536):
A patented circuit that dramatically improves the dynamics and timing of amplifiers and other high-current components. QR/BB™ acts as a lightning-fast, local energy storage device (Coulomb charge) that compensates for the inductive reactance of the AC power line—entirely without the use of sound-degrading coils, transformers, or large capacitors.GPNR (Ground Plane Noise Reduction):
A sophisticated filter system for the grounding conductor. It reduces high-frequency interference that contaminates the ground potential of audio and video systems. Components can also be directly connected to the GPNR filter via an external ground cable using the CGS (Chassis Grounding System) connector to achieve ultra-low impedance interference dissipation.KPIP v2™ (Kinetic Phase Inversion Process):
Shunyata Research's proprietary quantum burn-in process treats the conductor materials of the flagship model continuously at the atomic level for a full eight days. This optimizes the metal structure, virtually eliminates break-in time in the home system, and ensures a smooth, extremely vibrant, and natural component-level sound reproduction.NIC™ (Noise Isolation Chamber - Patent US 8,658,892):
These patented chambers reduce high-frequency mains interference using a ferroelectric substance that absorbs the RF interference. Unlike conventional power conditioners, this is achieved completely without the negative, dynamic-limiting interactions of large transformers or capacitors.CopperCONN® contacts:
While many audiophile connectors are made of brass or bronze and are merely coated, Shunyata Research uses solid contacts made of pure copper. Pure copper has a significantly higher conductivity, resulting in audibly better signal and power transmission. (EU Schuko sockets are made of an extremely copper-rich, high-end alloy.)C-Mode Filter:
Common-mode noise is particularly difficult to measure and eliminate. Shunyata Research has developed the C-Mode filter for this purpose, which effectively reduces this high-frequency interference without exhibiting the sound-compressing side effects of conventional filters. It lends the sound an analog lightness and clarity that bridges the gap between digital and analog playback.CCI™ (Component-to-Component Isolation):
These multi-stage filters effectively prevent digital or analog interference from a device from spreading to adjacent components via the power strip. Cross-contamination is blocked without restricting the unimpeded pulse current delivery (DTCD®).DTCD® Analysis (Dynamic Transient Current Delivery):
A measurement technique developed by Shunyata Research that precisely measures the short-term peak current flow through low-resistance conductors and contacts. This analysis enables the optimization of each component and material for maximum, lossless current delivery.Technical data
