PERLISTEN R-Series 5.1 Bookshelf Speaker Package > AV Forums Review

Awarding a ‘Best Buy’ with an ultimate 10/10 score, Martin Dew at AVForums has been stunned by a close encounter with a compact 5.1 system of Perlisten’s R series speakers.

If the imposing towers and super-reference status of Perlisten’s S-Series loudspeakers are outside your budget, why not try the more affordable bookshelf package? I say ‘affordable’, but I think you know what I mean. This R-Series package puts the brand within reach of many more enthusiasts, or at least it’s a combo that can arguably be saved up for. The only other opportunities I’ve had to listen to Perlisten’s range have been on less-than-ideal tradeshow floors or busy showrooms. Bringing them home, I did not expect to be bowled over in quite this way. What makes these R-Series speakers so special is that they simply sound glorious. As if that were not enough, they’re also manageable in size and look great. So, really, if you're hankering for a top-grade home cinema, but the room is smaller and the cabinets need to blend in, this 5.1 system from Perlisten is probably about as good as it gets.
